LA Colors

The other week I went to Westfield Stratford City with my friend Rachael. It really is massive, with so many shops, a great food court, and you can get a glimpse of the Olympic stadium. The one shop I really wanted to go to was Beauty Base, as I had read about the amazing selection of LA Colors polishes. This isn't a brand I have used before, but have read good things, and at 99p per full sized bottle, and £2.99 per mini set, who was I to resist?

I got three mini sets, two glitter and one brights. I am such a sucker for glitter polishes, and now I have plenty of colours to choose from. I also really like mini polishes as I have so many polishes that there is little chance that I would actually use up a full size.

This glitter is my favourite of the bunch, and I can't wait to use it over a purple polish.

This is the only full sized polish I got, an almost neon pink. It doesn't come out so bright on the nail though, but will be lovely on my toes for summer.

I also picked up a nail hardener to try and help my poor splitting nails. I then got these nail polish remover pads in strawberry and peach. They do smell nice, and worked well, but were quite greasy which I don't like.

Look out for lots of LA Colors NOTD in future!

Have you tried LA Colors?

17 BB All in One Magic Makeup

All of a sudden BB creams, or Blemish Balms burst onto the beauty scene in Britain. Originating from Asia, these miracle products are supposed to treat all manner of skin problems, such as blemishes and shine, as well as providing moisture and sun protection. Now, I am sure most of the British versions don't really do all the things the original potions do, but I was still excited to give them a go. I have bought two, this 17 one, and the Garnier one. This is my favourite of the two. This balm claims to even skintone, cover imperfections, and give a flawless finish with oil control and sun protection.

Being a super pale Scottish girl, I went for the light option. The shade is perfect for me, and doesn't give me the orange face paranoia I can get from some foundations and tinted moisturiser. It applies well, it is not as thick as a foundation, but has more substance than a tinted moisturiser.

 After

Stupid posing faces aside, I love it! The coverage it gives is ideal for me day to day, as I don't really like the heavy feel of foundation. It covers any redness and small blemishes, and is really quick and easy to apply. I gives my oily skin a nice matte look when set with powder. I didn't really like the Garnier one when I first tried it, and its really been ignored now in favour of the 17 offering. I will try to give it another go and report back!

17 BB cream is available in Boots for a very reasonable £6.99.

What BB creams have you tried?

Hiya Sephora!

While on holiday in Paris recently I had to check out the beauty Mecca that is Sephora. What kind of blogger would I be if I didn't? Lack of funds and hand luggage only flights meant I couldn't really buy much though. I ended up looking in two different stores, and they both had a great range of things, but I think most brands were more expensive than we would pay here. Their own brand things looked nice, but again were pretty pricey. I ended up buying this gadget-

Its a nail protector, to help you paint nails without getting the polish all over your skin. The lovely assistant also put in a couple of samples of Korean BB cream, which I am looking forward to trying. The gadget has 2 sides, 1 for fingers-

and 1 for toes:

(Sorry, I know toes creep some people out) I haven't actually used this for a full manicure yet, on account of being back at work and in the no polish zone! I am pretty bad at polishing my nails, so anything that can help and speed up the clean up process is a good thing in my book!

Have you been to Sephora?

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo

Every once in a while a product comes along which sends the blogging community into a frenzy! Everyone wants to get their hands on it, and the hunt begins! I am no exception, and was pulled in by all the posts about the new Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows.  This particular hunt didn't take too long, and I found them in Superdrug. I got 3 colours, which were on 3 for 2.

From left to right they are On and on bronze, Turquoise Forever and Eternal Gold. The turquoise is a little adventurous for me, but I'll give it a go!

The shadows are well pigmented, and have just the right amount of shimmer. Now, the claim that they last for 24hrs is a bit odd, who would want to keep it own for that long? I have had issues with creasing and wearing off with cream shadows in the past, but am happy to report these lasted well on a night out. I applied it with my finger, but am not sure if it would work better with a brush. Something to try next time!

Have you caved in and bought the Color Tattoo's?
