Hiya Sephora!

While on holiday in Paris recently I had to check out the beauty Mecca that is Sephora. What kind of blogger would I be if I didn't? Lack of funds and hand luggage only flights meant I couldn't really buy much though. I ended up looking in two different stores, and they both had a great range of things, but I think most brands were more expensive than we would pay here. Their own brand things looked nice, but again were pretty pricey. I ended up buying this gadget-

Its a nail protector, to help you paint nails without getting the polish all over your skin. The lovely assistant also put in a couple of samples of Korean BB cream, which I am looking forward to trying. The gadget has 2 sides, 1 for fingers-

and 1 for toes:

(Sorry, I know toes creep some people out) I haven't actually used this for a full manicure yet, on account of being back at work and in the no polish zone! I am pretty bad at polishing my nails, so anything that can help and speed up the clean up process is a good thing in my book!

Have you been to Sephora?

Weekly Photo Summary

I thought I would start doing weekly summary posts, as I love reading other peoples, and I am trying to take more photo's as I am out and about. I also got the mytubo app after reading about it on Bicky's blog. Its like instagram for Andriod, and is pretty awesome. Oh, and my interview trip went well, but I am going for a few more next week, and will update when I have decided what I am doing!

Starbucks Christmas drinks are here! There was a buy one get one free offer on last week, so I went along with Mama Poms. I got the Praline Mocha and wasn't impressed, but the gingerbread latte is pretty good. Nothing will replace my first love though, the Caramel Macchiato.

I got a Diana F+ camera! I have been wanting a Lomography camera for a while now, and I got this cheap in Urban Outfitters. I can see myself becoming a right lomo geek, and am looking forward to trying out all the things I can do with it.

My overnight megabus journey was pretty foggy! Was a bit scary, what with that awful crash the night before.

Om nom nom! We went to Camden market, and got some chinese food, which was super tasty. They have so many food stalls there, its awesome.

I managed to get a quick snap of the Olympic countdown in Trafalgar square, but this was on tuesday, so its a few days less now.

What have you been up to this week?
Have you tried the Starbucks Christmas drinks?

I'm off to London town!

I am just getting ready to get the overnight megabus to London. The journey will  probably be horrific, but its the cheapest way. I am going to down stay with friends from uni, as I have an 2 interviews next week,  on Monday and Wednesday. They are not in London, but close enough to go for the day. I will get a wee bit of time to explore London too. I thought I would should you my lovely new suitcase, and what toiletries and make up I am taking with me.

Isn't it a beaut? I got it from Argos for £24.99 which is half price. Its meant to be the world's lightest suitcase, which means more weight for clothes!

Toiletries wise I tried to be good and only took the basics, as my case isn't that big, and I have lots of train changes.

Brushes

Face

Eyes

Lips

Again with make up I was restrained, and only packed basics and old favourites that I know I can rely on.

Lastly nail care. These little sets from Ms Manicure will cover all my nail needs when I am away.I am not planning on painting them,so have nothing like that packed.

Sorry this is mostly photos, but I have a bus to catch.Hopefully I will have good news when I get back!

If you would like reviews of any of the products, do let me know.

I'm leaving on a jet plane

Yes girlies, I am escaping the cold and snow of Scotland for a week. I am leaving early tomorrow (friday) morning, to go to Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. Yes, of killer shark fame. Don't worry, i'll not be going anywhere near the sea, much to my disappointment, as I was looking forward to doing some snorkelling and seeing some pretty fishes like this-

I took that photo diving in Thailand, during my 14 months of travelling a few years back. I have an underwater housing for my normal digital camera, which means I can use it 30 metres under the sea. Unfortunately due to the recent tragic events in Sharm, it will be staying at home.

I still plan to have a great time, its my first proper holiday with my boyfriend (bar a few days in Paris), my first time going all inclusive, and my first time in Egypt. We are hoping to go quad biking and camel riding, and i'm sure we will find many more things to do.

I did intend to have some scheduled posts for you, but things have been hectic recently, and I am currently doing an all nighter to finish uni work. So, i'll be back in a week, and promise to do some posts then.

I think i'll need a whole day when I get back to catch up with reading all of your blogs!

London Calling!

Just to let you know i'm away gallivanting again, so probably won't be blogging much. I am going down to London with mama pom, to visit the bro. It just so happens my bf is down there for work too, bonus!

Not sure what we are going to do, we are thinking of going up the London Eye, and maybe the tower of London. I always love the shopping in London, but my purse is far too empty for such antics.

Any suggestions for fun things to do?

One thing I do know, I'll be eating these-

We don't get Krispy Kreme up in Scotland, so every time I am down in London, its nom nom nom!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Paris!

Hey everyone, I'm back! I had an amazing time, but boy, was it hot! Was very hard to look at all composed in that heat, I have no idea how the local ladies do it! We did all the usual touristy things, visited the Eiffel Tower-

We went right up to the top, which had an amazing view, but to be honest after hours of queuing, we were just so tired and hot! Luckily I had my trusty £1 primark sunnies-

We also went to the Louvre, and saw the Mona Lisa, of course!

Its behind a glass case, thats why there are lots of random people reflected in it!
In terms of shopping, I didn't really do much. I had a look at the make up, but it ended up really expensive. I saw Bourjois stuff, and the little eyeshadow pots were over 10 euros! I was interested in the Une range, but that was equally expensive, so I had to be good and leave it. Sometimes I hate being a poor student! Bring on next year, I'll be a real Nurse, with real money to spend! I did want to look in Sephora, after reading alot about it, but the branch that was in the shopping centre at the Louvre was getting done up or something. Ah well.
Here is a quick FOTD, this was  late at night though, as I had already taken out my contact lenses! Still, its a picture I can tolerate! It was taken using my boyfriends camera, which is so much better than mine. So, I need to start saving for a new one, or steal his!

My hair was pinned up out of my face, thats why my fringe has a big dent in it!
I am wearing my new 17 limited edition metallic bronzer, which I am going to review later.
Hope you all had a good weekend!

Tiny holiday cosmetic haul, and a wee accident...

So, I went into Superdrug today to get my eeny weeny holiday cosmetics, which was fine and dandy. Then, I got lured over to the make up aisle, and just HAD to make a few purchases. My bad.
So lets have a look-

Yay! Aren't they so cute? I put on my Primark sunnies for a size guide. So I got Simple facewash, toner, eye make up remover and moisturiser. Its been years since I last tried simple, but i'm sure it will be fine. I think i'll leave these up at my boyfriends after, save on carting things up there every weekend. I then got Charles Worthington brilliant shine shampoo and conditioner, which I have used before and do like, but seem only to ever buy it in the mini takeaway bottles. If there is some left in these after then they are handy for after swimming and gymming! I also got a mini deodorant, and couldn't resist the tiny cocoa butter. This will be good if I get a bit too much sun again! I already had the Soap and Glory clean on me, from a present, so that was ideal. Its my favourite shower gel, it smells great and leaves my skin soft. Infact, I love all soap and glory, but thats going to be a post of its own! I also got toothpaste which is boring, and still need to get some suncream. I think I will have to much liquids, but I have already planned to get my boyfriend to take some of mine. He doesn't know this yet! This is our first holiday together, I'm so excited!

So that was fine, got all the bits I needed, but did I go to the checkout? No, of course not! Off I toddled to the make up aisle, and came out with this haul-

Woops! To be fair though, they were all cheapies, or on offer. I got an MUA bronzer (£1), to give it a try, in shade 1. It is fairly shimmery, but I suppose thats ok for summer if I don't go overboard. I also got an MUA lipstick in shade 12(£1), which also has a bit of a shimmer, which I'm not sure I like. It seems a little teenage I think, but I'll give it a go and see how I get on. I then got the 2true cheek 'n' lip tint, in blush pink(£1.95). Now, this looks really scary when first applied, but blends in quite well. I think its something I'll need to have a play around with.
Lastly, I got two Rimmel 3in1 powder blushes. These were on offer, down from £4.99 to £2.99. They come in 4 shades, one for each season. These ones are Winter Glow (above right) and Spring Flower(above left). However, I have a slight confession to make, I actually already have the summer and autumn ones, as I got them in the Boots 3 for 2. I really like them, as they have nice colours that can be used seperately, or look great all blended. I'm going to do a review on these once i've given them all a go. I know, not even in the right seasons, how daring!

Right, this seems to have gone on for long enough! I have been really thinking lately about interesting posts I can do, and have started a wee notebook for ideas. I'll try do another one before I head off to Paris.
Bye for now, Anna x

Tiny Holiday Cosmetics!

Does anyone else love tiny little holiday cosmetics? I can't resist them, so cute! I am going to Paris next week, on a cheapie flight with hand luggage only. This means no liquids over 100 ml, so I guess I HAVE to buy the itty bitty toiletries! I noticed that Superdrug have a 5 for 4 offer on the holiday mini's, so I will be going there to haul! I realise I could just buy those empty bottles and fill them myself, but where is the fun in that? The only annoying one is contact lens fluid, buying little bottles of that is really expensive, and i'm not sure if filling another bottle would be a good idea, as it wouldn't be sterile. I think I have one wee bottle from another trip thats not open, so lets hope I can find it!
So I think you can only take up to a total of 1 litre, so ten 100 ml items.
So far, I am thinking I will need:
1.Shampoo
2.Conditioner
3.Shower Gel
4.Deodorant
5.Moisturiser
6.Sun Cream
7.Lens Fluid

I am contemplating taking the evil face wipes, as that will be easier!
Any other suggestions for holiday must-haves?
